Wisdom of the Ages in the Comfort of Your Own Home
By Robert Roth

I have always enjoyed reading newspapers and magazines, watching television, and listening to the radio. But these days that process is becoming increasingly vacuous, if not downright demeaning. I don't think I am alone in that sentiment.

In fact, I have a journalist friend who used to write for one of America's leading national newspapers, who finally quit out of frustration because he said that real information and news were increasingly being sacrificed for "fluff" journalism that appealed to the lowest common denominator of the country. He said that he and his colleagues described the theme of their newspaper-and, in fact, much of the media-as: "Exciting . . . but meaningless!" From what I am told, that is pretty much the case with the media in most other countries, as well.

Where do you go if you want news? If you want information? Particularly, if you want news and information that will help you grow-to become healthier, happier, and more fulfilled.

Enter the satellite channel of Maharishi Open University. Not simply a breath of fresh air in the stale world of television, but a wide open door to all the knowledge you need to enjoy enlightenment, higher states of consciousness.

Begin with Maharishi's lectures. I remember when I started meditating over 30 years ago that I had to travel across the city to the TM Center to hear an audiotape of Maharishi speaking out his latest knowledge. Videotapes of Maharishi came along in the early- to mid-seventies, available through the Centers or at Residence Courses. But the notion of having Maharishi speaking in my own home was inconceivable. Until now. Now every day you can enjoy the most up-to-date lectures by Maharishi-as well entire courses by the faculty of Maharishi Open University. You can also watch, live, the inspiring January 12th celebrations, Guru Purnima celebrations, and Vedic celebrations throughout the year. In fact, Maharishi has said that whenever he wants the world to know something new, he uses this channel.

You want news? Every day Dr. Bevan Morris presents an absolutely compelling 30-minute international news summary, along with his own unique commentary that is based on whether a particular policy or program is in harmony with Natural Law-and therefore progressive and nourishing for all.

And knowledge? Watch "Solutions" by Dr. John Hagelin, internationally-renowned quantum physicist, who each day addresses one or more problems plaguing the world and presents the most up-to-date knowledge, in the light of modern science and Maharishi Vedic Science, which can effectively prevent, and solve, these seemingly intractable problems. Or view shows by Drs. Michael and Susie Dillbeck, Dr. Volker Schanbacher, and Dr. Paul Potter, which shed deep insight into the principles and programs of pure knowledge brought to light by Maharishi-programs, which if applied quickly and properly, can themselves dramatically change the trends of time, and create the kind of genuine good news that we all long to hear.

Yes, I know you are busy. So am I. This is the 21st century. No one has any time. We often have to carve out the time for our precious meditation program, so it is easy to think, "Yes, I should sign up for MOU, take the new course, watch these other shows. I should get that satellite hook-up. Maybe next year."

Let me say something that you already know. It isn't going to be any easier in 2002. Time slips by way too fast. Important things we know we should get around to doing we don't do because our life is eaten up by little things. Here is an unbelievable opportunity to bring complete knowledge of life, the most sublime wisdom of the ages, into the comfort of your own home. It's like opening a window to allow a cool, refreshing breeze to sweep through your entire house.

When you bring the knowledge of Maharishi Open University into your home, you will enliven, invigorate, and revitalize your whole life, putting you and your whole family on the fast track to enlightenment, the supreme goal of human life on earth. And, after all, what are we here for, if not for that?
