"When I made the decision to enroll in Maharishi Spiritual University of America, I felt as if my whole consciousness and physiology turned into shimmering diamonds," says one transfer student. "Maharishi is offering us the priceless gift of enlightenment, like a diamond on a silver tray. In accepting his gift, I felt as if I became that reality."
Maharishi Spiritual University of America (MSUA) opened its doors in September 2000 on the campus of the Mother Divine program in North Carolina. Since then, students of all ages have been rejoicing in the opportunity to study, experience, and apply the field of Total Knowledge—their own pure consciousness—as the focus of their education.
In his Convocation address, Maharishi said, "Aham Brahmasmi, 'I am Totality,' has been the clarion call of Vedic Education. It was a natural feature of education worth the name."
A freshman who enrolled in MSUA right after high school agrees. "I feel so fortunate to be receiving education on this level. No other form of college education would have satisfied my thirst for complete knowledge."
MSUA President Dr. Meg Custer observes, "As the students progress through the different programs offered at MSUA, they naturally grow in the experiences of Transcendental Consciousness, Cosmic Consciousness, and Unity Consciousness. This growth of higher states of consciousness gives a great significance to their education."
Teachers also benefit from this focus on higher states of consciousness. "In the classroom we are always immersed in reverberating wholeness, an experience that is thrilling and energizing both for me as the teacher and for the students," comments one teacher. "Every day I witness the transformations in each of the students as they quickly awaken to their own Totality.
"I also find myself coming up with all sorts of reasons to spend time in the University's Veda library, because I experience such clarity and expansion when I'm there. Verifying their experiences of higher states of consciousness with the Vedic texts is an important part of the curriculum."
MSUA offers a unique approach to interdisciplinary study not available in any other educational institution, providing experience and understanding of the 40 aspects of the ultimate reality at the source of all disciplines.
All of the post-secondary programs are in Maharishi Vedic Science, with specializations at the undergraduate level in Vedic Literature, Maharishi Vedic Management and Political Science, Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health, and Applications of Vedic Science—The Maharishi Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course. Graduate programs cover the entire unfoldment of the 40 aspects of Veda and Vedic Literature from the first syllable of Rk Veda, "AK."
Plans for the coming year include new specializations in Maharishi Vedic Science, developing a distance education program for ladies to be offered via the Maharishi Channel, and launching a campaign to build an additional campus of 100 rooms at The Maharishi Spiritual Center of America. This will allow many more students from all walks of life to enjoy short and long courses at MSUA.
The next semester begins September 1, 2001. To request an application or more information, call 1-877-833-4233 or email
