The Ministers all performed puja, the ceremony of gratitude to the Vedic tradition of knowledge, followed by recitation of the Vedic Anthem of the Global Country of World Peace. After opening remarks by His Excellency Dr. John Hagelin, Minister of Science and Technology, the Ministers took their Oath of Office and offered their signed Oaths to King Nader Raam.

In the following words, His Majesty King Nader Raam requested the Minister of World Peace, His Excellency Dr. Volker Schanbacher, to confer the Doctorate Degree of World Peace on each Minister and Cabinet Member:

"With the complete knowledge of Natural Law given by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, endowed with brilliant intellects and full of the feelings and desires to see a world free from suffering, pain and conflicts, and having the supreme level of efficiency and precision in action, the illustrious members of the Government of the Global Country of World Peace have excelled in their contribution among the entire population of the world in the creation of a peaceful world.

"For their great achievements, and for their commitment to maintain Unity Consciousness in the world and to create a world in which everyone is living in peace and fullness, I ask the Minister of World Peace, His Excellency Dr. Volker Schanbacher, to confer on each of the Ministers and Cabinet Members the Doctorate Degree of World Peace. "Jai Guru Dev."

His Excellency Dr. John Hagelin, who led the ceremony in Vlodrop, summarized the significance of the day:

"This historic and momentous occasion of the swearing in of the Cabinet Ministers of His Majesty King Nader Raam began at the most auspicious moment of the most auspicious day of this most auspicious year of Maharishi’s Global Country of World Peace.

"While inaugurating this new year, Maharishi announced that the target of his 50 years of tireless efforts throughout the world, including his revitalization of Veda and Vedic Literature in the structure of a perfect science— Maharishi Vedic Science and Technology— that these 50 years of revitalization of knowledge bringing enlightenment to millions of people all over the world had achieved its target—the establishment of peace perpetual.

"While inaugurating this new year, Maharishi announced that the target of his 50 years of tireless efforts throughout the world, including his revitalization of Veda and Vedic Literature in the structure of a perfect science - Maharishi Vedic Science and Technology - that these 50 years of revitalization of knowledge bringing enlightenment to millions of people all over the world had achieved its target - the establishment of peace perpetual.

"The instrument to create and maintain perpetual peace on earth is the Global Country of World peace, established on the 7th of October 2000, and His Majesty King Nader Raam, who was crowed on the 12th of October 2000."
