Convocation of Maharishi Spiritual University of America
Excerpts from Maharishi's Convocation Address
September 4, 2000

It is high time now that the total human brain should be made functional. It is high time now that Total Knowledge of Natural Law, discovered by modern science, should be a common field of knowledge for everyone in the world. It is high time now that everyone in the world should have this knowledge of Natural Law as a common feature of education everywhere. Whether one wants to study physics or chemistry or anything, this is the time now for any study to be based on the Total Knowledge of Natural Law.

This will be the knowledge promoted by the Spiritual University of America, Total Knowledge. Spiritual means total. The Spiritual University of America will develop the total potential of life in everyone and the total potential of everyone’s life is Cosmic.

It is a very, very fortunate day for us that at least one university in America, the most creative country in the world, has now launched Total Education. Now we can hope for the collective consciousness of America to have a more responsible character. In this connection, "more responsible character" means that the people of America and the followers of America throughout the world will adopt this spiritual system of education, and will then create people of higher intelligence, people who will spontaneously use their total brain physiology.

Fortunate are those who are starting this University today. Fortunate are all those teachers, directors, promoters, and founders who have given from the field of education a new direction of total development of the individual. Continue with all the blessings of the tradition of great Vedic Masters. Go ahead.

This is the milestone of perfect education, total education, spiritual education from the Spiritual University of America.

On the first of January, 1958, Maharishi inaugurated his Spiritual Regeneration Movement to unfold the full potential of all mankind in this generation, having received the inspiration for such a sublime undertaking in 1950 from his own spiritual master, His Divinity Brahmanand Saraswati, Guru Dev.

Fifty years later we are founding Maharishi Spiritual University of America, as one of many waves of global celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Guru Dev’s blessings for the world. The very name shines with the ultimate reality of life, a spiritual university—a university, at last, predicated on the experience of consciousness, the supreme light of our own inner intelligence, the light of the universe, Atma , the Self of everyone shining at the basis of all fields of knowledge

This education is at once most universal and most intimate. Every student can gain knowledge, direct experience, and the ability to apply the field of Total Knowledge and its infinite organizing power for perfection in life.

It is a dream come true, the opportunity to live life in perfection and all possibilities, from A to Z, through Maharishi’s perfect and complete system of education.
