Vedic Education Brings
Fulfillment to Life By Dr. Neil Paterson, Governor General of the Age of Enlightenment

O n July 16th Maharishi celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Guru
Dev—50 years since he received the inspiration to teach the
Transcendental Meditation technique from his teacher Swami
Brahmnand Saraswat, the Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math in the
Himalayas.
During the Golden Jubilee Celebration, which was broadcast
worldwide via satellite, Maharishi emphasized the important role
of Vedic education in bringing life to fulfillment. He said that
from the first day he began teaching the Transcendental Meditation
technique, his desire has been for everyone to live the experience
of Totality in all aspects of daily life—in thought, speech and
action.
Maharishi said it is the responsibility of education to deliver
the experience of Totality of life to every student. Today
however, the very word "university" is a misnomer,
because universities offer only compartmentalized knowledge. The
word "university" is comprised of two values: unity and
diversity. Education is incomplete without the holistic and
unifying realization of Total Knowledge, discovered within each
individual through the experience of Transcendental Consciousness.
Maharishi is therefore challenging the governments, who are
responsible for education, to go by their constitutions and offer
their citizens the means to enjoy complete fulfillment in life.
This is the wise and proper use of governmental power, rather than
spending precious resources on building or buying armaments and
supporting NATO or other organizations engaged in destructive
activities around the world.
The solution, as Maharishi outlined, is to introduce real
education—Vedic education—which gives all students the
experience of the self-referral dynamism of their own Self, and
which awakens the Cosmic potential of everyone so that life is
lived in fulfillment, in Enlightenment.

Challenging Every Government

During the Guru Purnima global satellite broadcast on July 16,
His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi gave an historic message to the
peoples of every nation: "It is your natural birthright to
cry out when you are put under constant suffering by the foolish
and irresponsible action of your own governments. This crying out
of the people is the natural centuries-old response to
governmental mismanagement of the nation’s life.
"Today when the government only favors those who give them
money, the only recourse of the people is to take shelter in the
justice system and sue the government for their fraudulent and
corrupt practices under consumer protection laws."
Maharishi invited at least three or four patriotic leaders in
every nation to take immediate legal action against all levels of
governments, and alert the government that the days when they
could just do anything they liked without consequences are now
over.
Governments whose educational policies prevent the development
of the precious potential of the brain should be sued for
violating the right of every individual to enjoy the Cosmic
creativity of their own brains. Those whose health policies cause
the illness and death of their own people should be sued for their
fraudulent health care system. Those whose defense policies spread
fear and terrorism, and murder the civilians of other nations,
will be put on notice that they are now being held liable, and
will go to jail for the mischief they do to human life in the name
of political self-preservation.
Government policy today is based upon the flow of money to
the government and political parties by special interests. As a
result the government ignores scientifically proven solutions
which Maharishi has brought to light from the ancient traditions
of Vedic ScienceSM , and verified
by overwhelming scientific evidence.
Maharishi concluded: "So I’m asking the wise of each
nation to test in the court of justice whether the constitution is
to destroy life of the people or to give them protection from
problems. And on every full moon we will review what country is
for life and what country is for destruction of life."
