Charlie Heath and his wife Marguerite run the Midwest Regional Secretary’s Office. In addition, Charlie regularly tours in North America to give seminars on the Maharishi Vedic Astrology program.

Enlightenment: What has been your experience in offering the Maharishi Vedic Astrology seminar?

Charlie Heath: It has been a pure delight. We always play a beautiful video-tape of Maharishi that is very rich in knowledge. We spend time going into the fundamentals, and then we hear more specifically from the visiting Maharishi Vedic Astrology experts from India about how the Grahas (planets) connect to individual life. We actually do some chart interpretation together to get a practical sense for how it all works. The Maharishi Jyotish expert also prints out the Janma Kundali (birth chart) and makes Maharishi Yagya recommendations for each per-son at the seminar. In most locations we offer the seminar in the format of a luncheon banquet, so it’s a wonderful opportunity for the meditating community to celebrate together.

Enlightenment: If Maharishi Vedic Astrology calculates the mathematical unfoldment of our destiny, then where is free will?

Charlie Heath: Maharishi answered this question very beautifully by commenting that there is 100 percent determinism coexisting with 100 percent free will. At each moment of our life we are utilizing our free will to make choices for our future, and at each moment we are con-fronting the result of choices we’ve made in the past. If you go to the Chicago airport, you have complete free will to get on the plane you choose. But having chosen the flight to Montreal, then Montreal is where you’ll end up.

Enlightenment: Where does the Maharishi Yagya program come in?

Charlie Heath: As you sow so shall you reap. No one lives in isolation. We are always creating an influence with every move we make in life. Hence, we’re always creating some wave which will eventually ripple back to us. We can’t jump over the results of our actions. When they return, we have to go through them. With Maharishi Vedic Astrology any future need can be pinpointed regarding health, career, relations or finances, and with the Maharishi Yagya program the situation can be amended. This allows us to make every life bright in every way, and give real meaning to the words "Heaven on Earth."
