December 1999 News From Around the World Peru: Prime Minister of Peru Supports TM At the October 13, 1999 signing, a detailed action plan to develop the full potential of all the students of the university in less than one year was presented by Javier Ortiz Cabrejos, President of Maharishi Institute of Science and Technology for Peru, and a graduate of Ricardo Palma University. Peruvian Congressman Arturo Castillo Chirinos also spoke on the great importance of this project for education in the country. University Chancellor Dr. Ivan Rodriguez Chavez, commenting on the action plan, said, "It sets a good example for other institutions to take affirmative action. A successful and integrated life in the new millennium will require education to fully develop the consciousness of every student." Asia and Australasia: World Tour Inaugurates New Institute In a speaking tour of 33 cities in 15 countries, from September through November, the Institute was first established in the state capitals of India, and then in other Asian countries, Australia, and New Zealand. The institute will train professionals as well as the general population how to make use of their total brain potential for growing perfection in life. In addition to videotaped addresses by Maharishi, Professor Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D., and Dr. Bevan Morris, the speakers included Dr. Volker Schanbacher, Drs. Michael and Susie Dillbeck, Dr. Keith Wallace, Dr. Walter Mölk, Dr. Rainer Picha, Barry Charles, M.D., Lt. Col. Gunter Chassé, and Dr. Bill Sands.
