Student Attends Washington
Conference on Violence
Maharishi School of the Age of
Enlightenment senior Laura DeAngelis recently attended a national
conference on school violence—presenting research to a congressional
committee on how to reduce the individual and collective stresses that
plague today’s students.
The nationwide conference,
"Voices Against Violence," was attended by 500 students. Each
offered perspectives to solve the
problems of youth violence.
Inspired by this conference,
Maharishi School students have formed a national organization called
"End School Violence
Now" which is committed to stopping school violence at its origin
through Maharishi’s scientifically validated technology of
Consciousness-Based education. For more information on this organization,

Dr. Fagan Appears on ABC’s Nightline
Maharishi University of Management
faculty member John Fagan, Ph.D. was interviewed in a news report on
genetically engineered food that appeared on ABC’s
Nightline.
The show’s camera crew interviewed
Dr. Fagan standing in the aisles of the Hy-Vee grocery store in Fairfield,
Iowa. Dr. Fagan expressed his surprise that the
American public seems generally unconcerned with
the issue. Nearly all snack food contains genetically modified foods—from
potato chips to pasta, salsa to apple-sauce. Dr. Fagan notes that "60
to 70 percent of all packaged products contain at least one genetically
engineered ingredient."
Genetic ID, a company founded by Dr.
Fagan, tests foods to determine if they have been genetically engineered.
Dr. Fagan’s company is now serving clients around the world, as
countries decide to ban or label genetically engineered foods.
