Atma-Based Education
In the Certificate of Total Knowledge course, which is the foundation of the Maharishi Open University curriculum, students are introduced to the whole range of Vedic knowledge and modern knowledge. They gain the knowledge  which is supreme in life—knowledge of the Self, or Atma. Students became more familiar with Atma-based education, which is fundamentally different from the intellect-based education which is prevalent today.

"I remember my previous education as a lot of focus and analysis," one student recalls. "But Total Knowledge was very easy learning. I felt that the knowledge accumulated in layers rather than just at one level. With regular practice of my program and the repetition of specific points from different angles, I just listened easily and let the knowledge flow over me. I could feel the changes happening without any effort on my part."

Atma-based education cultivates the consciousness of the student by enlivening the entire brain. This naturally gives rise to a feeling of greater freshness and creativity, raising life to a new, higher level of enjoyment and fulfillment.

The clarity of our experience of Atma, and thus the experience of life, is based upon the physical condition of the brain. Unfortunately, intellect-based education actually prevents the total development of the brain. The segmented approach of focusing on specific fields of Natural Law, such as physics, mathematics, management or art, only enlivens specific parts of the brain, never the total brain. This partial development of the brain is the cause of all stress, strain and failures which are witnessed in the world today.

The foundation course in Total Knowledge begins to correct the dam-age in the brain caused by wrong education. Only the experience of Total Knowledge—the Self, Atom—can produce that total development of the brain.

Creating a Perfect Man
Once a person has completed the Certificate of Total Knowledge course and has that holistic value enlivened in the brain, then the new Creating a Perfect Man course goes deeply into the transformation from Veda to the physiology of the individual and the universe, for the full development of Brahm, Unity Consciousness.

"I remember hearing about the sequential unfoldment of knowledge which would take place through Maharishi Open University courses," says a student. "Now that I have completed Total Knowledge and am beginning Perfect Man, I see how one builds upon the other."

In this course, Professor Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D. presents his new research, conducted under Maharishi’s guidance, on the expressions of the 40 qualities of Veda and the Vedic Literature in the human physiology. According to Professor Nader, the effect of the course will be to "prepare participants for supreme mastery over fundamental ‘switches’ that can enliven specific aspects of Natural Law for the creation of a perfect man."

In describing life in perfection, Professor Nader notes that those living perfection "have gained the ability to be blissful. They have gained the ability to be able to achieve what they want with the least strain, with the least struggle, with the least effort. Because they experience what they are. And from that level of what they are, they are able to act and achieve the purpose of life, which is the expansion of happiness."

"This is an entirely new wave of knowledge," observes one student, "designed to help everyone live a life without mistakes or suffering. I feel that I am finally beginning to understand what ‘perfection’ really means."
