A Navigator  for Life

Michael Mendocha, an experienced businessman, has used the Maharishi Jyotish program for years to help avoid obstacles coming his way, take full advantage of opportunities, and to clarify questions in his life.

Enlightenment magazine interviewed Michael in August 1999.

Enlightenment: How have you benefited personally from the Maharishi Jyotish program?

Michael: I’ll tell you a story. A few years ago my brother wanted me to invest in a company with him. We were going to buy a distributorship to sell a product. He had done some extensive research on this company. It checked out in every way as legitimate, and the product they were selling was very good. My brother felt all the information was there. He visited them four times before telling me we needed to invest.

But I just had a strange feeling about it. Every time I delayed, the price of the investment went up. So finally I went to see an expert in the Maharishi Jyotish program.

The first words out of the expert’s mouth were "Don’t give your money to anyone for any reason for the next five weeks." When I questioned him, he was very adamant about it. So I called my brother and told him I couldn’t invest. He said he’d find someone else, but it turned out he couldn’t find anyone, so he let it go.

About six weeks later he called me up and said, "Your expert saved our lives." It turned out that the State of California had closed down the company due to their business practices. This really showed me the value of using Maharishi Jyotish on a regular basis to confirm and clarify my own intuition. This one consultation alone saved me many thousands of dollars.

Enlightenment: That’s great! Have you also experienced more success at work?

Michael: Oh, yes, absolutely. That’s why I check the quality of each time period relating to business. And we’re having tremendous success. It’s especially helpful when we are negotiating or working with our clients during a challenging period. It helps me avoid getting overshadowed by the situation. I can just flow with it, since I know it will end soon and then things will be favorable again very quickly.

Enlightenment: How often do you have a consultation?

Michael: I go on a regular basis for a yearly progression. And every three months I get clarification and more detailed knowledge about specific situations.

Enlightenment: You’re leaving soon to become a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation program. How did that come up?

Michael: In August of 1994, an expert in the Maharishi Jyotish program told me that August 1999 would be a good time to go on the Teacher Training Course. At that time I had no idea I would even become a teacher. But he saw it in my chart five years ago. So that was very encouraging for me.

Enlightenment: Will you return to your business after the course?

Michael: I’ll teach the TM program full time. I plan to bring my business skill and experience to teaching. I’ve been a senior vice president for sales and marketing. I’ve run an organization. I have a lot of expertise and knowledge. Now I want to apply that to being successful as a teacher.

Enlightenment: What do you like best about the Maharishi Jyotish program?

Michael: I like having an idea of what’s coming in the future. I’m better able to respond to events that come my way. I know in advance when things might come up that are not so favorable, so I’m not caught off guard. And when I’m in a good period, I can make the most of it.

Enlightenment: So its like having a navigator?

Michael: Right, a navigator for life.
