Maharishi Speaks to Educators:
Mastery Over Natural Law
|
"First experience, then
understanding, then application, then verification, then
authenticity; then organize to perpetuate this holistic path of
enlightenment through the tradition of teaching in the long corridor of
time.
The tradition of teaching has its
source in the flow of the eternal
wholeness of knowledge.
Every teacher of this holistic
science of life is a moving WHOLENESS." —Maharishi
Maharishi Speaks to Educators presents
a wealth of knowledge for everyone. The 856-page, four-volume set provides
detailed main points from lectures given by Maharishi from 1970 to 1986.
Twenty themes of knowledge are presented, with four to ten lectures
included in each theme.
All readers will receive an education
in Maharishi Vedic Science simply by reading the lecture points on themes
such as Maharishi’s Absolute Theory of Education; The Foundation of All
Systems of Education—Ancient and Modern; Maharishi’s Ideal of
Education; and ‘Fruit of All Knowledge’—Maharishi’s Gift to Every
Student.
For example, two main points from a
February 28, 1978 lecture summarize one recurring theme:
To gain more and more knowledge, to
accomplish more and more, is the nature of life. To know more and create
more it is necessary to expand the container of knowledge—consciousness.
The universal lack in education is
that it does not prepare the learner for learning. Consciousness, which is
the basis of learning, can be expanded to contain the entirety of life.
The Science of Creative Intelligence is the direct way to unfold this
infinite creativity in man.
In the Conclusion, Maharishi presents
the vision of a fully educated student. "When a student realizes that
the sequence of evolution begins within himself and covers the whole range
of diverse creation, and when, through the vision of all modern
disciplines, he realizes the common basis of all disciplines in his own
pure intelligence, then he finds himself as the goal of all modern pursuits
of knowledge.
"At this point the culture of a
student’s mind is so profound that he is incapable of making mistakes.
The student ceases to be a seeker of knowledge; he rises to be the
embodiment of all knowledge. He has realized the goal of student life—mastery
over Natural Law—and is prepared to enter professional life as an
enlightened leader of society for the coming generations.
"This is the wisdom of life for
every student; this is the beacon light of good fortune available to every
student in the world."
