Today there is an urgent call for the establishment of large groups practicing the Transcendental Meditation program and Yogic Flying in every country to reduce escalating world tensions and restore peace.

Although the NATO countries have put forward very good and pious reasons to bomb and maim in Yugoslavia, we know from physics that every action creates an equal and opposite reaction. Waging war in an attempt to create peace is counter-productive and can create a backlash. The fighting in the Balkans has created an imminent danger for every country—including the United States and Canada.

Our political leaders have assured us that no stone has been left unturned in their search for a non-military course of action in the Balkans, however they have failed to introduce a proven solution. More than 40 research studies have demonstrated that group practice of Yogic Flying can dramatically decrease negative trends such as crime, violence, and even war.

Many people are now working to bring an end to the current conflict and prevent all future conflicts in the world. You can participate in this project in three ways:

Firstly, invite those with financial resources to contribute toward establishing permanent groups of Yogic Flyers and maintaining them year after year to make peace permanent on earth. Please see page 29 for more details.

Secondly, inform our government officials that there is an effective alternative to war.

Finally, explain our scientifically-validated program to create peace to members of your local media. Maharishi has said it is time to tell the media that the effect of the TM program and Yogic Flying on conflict resolution is not a story to amuse their readers, but a story that can make the difference between life and death.

With your support in these three areas we can quickly bring an end to the conflicts underway and create permanent peace and security. I wish you all success in your efforts at this urgent time. Together we can help reverse current conflicts and create Heaven on Earth for all mankind.

Despite Maharishi’s tireless efforts for more than 40 years in offering the most precious knowledge of total Natural Law to every individual and government in the world, perpetual world peace will remain a dream as long as this knowledge is not established in auspicious buildings designed according to Natural Law.

We have heard from Professor Tony Nader, MD, Ph.D., that every individual is really Cosmic. All 40 aspects of Veda and Vedic Literature which structure the universe also structure the human physiology. Therefore Cosmic individuals should only live and work in buildings and cities constructed in harmony with Cosmic Intelligence and Natural Law.

When every home and every government building in a country is constructed in accord with Natural Law, then individual intelligence and national intelligence are connected to Cosmic Intelligence and the nation gains an indomitable influence of coherence, fortune, peace and invincibility. This invincible power is called the Maharishi Vastu Effect.

Excavations of the vast ancient Vedic civilization located in the Indus Valley provide a beautiful proof of the effectiveness of the cosmic principles of the Vastu Effect in securing health, wealth and invincibility for individuals and nations as a whole. Ongoing for 80 years, the excavations reveal a very orderly city and country planning according to Vastu Vidya—the knowledge of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda design. Roads are aligned east-west and north-south. A perfect canalization and sewage system connected to every house. The spacious dimensions of the homes reflect a high standard of living. Most remarkably, no weapons or defense systems have been found, even though other civilizations of that period such as Mesopotamia were not always peaceful.

According to Maharishi’s Master Plan to Reconstruct the World, eventually all buildings and cities will be designed in harmony with Natural Law. Even now, due to the great power of Vastu, a relatively small number of buildings and communities designed and built according to Natural Law have begun to radiate their characteristic qualities of order, harmony and peace—Vastu Shanti—enhancing significantly the creation of Vishwa Shanti—perpetual world peace.
