Our first Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health consultation was in May 1991, when a visiting expert from India came to Avon Park, Florida. After taking Catherine’s pulse, he prescribed a diet, daily routine and specific herbal preparations for her.

By following his recommendations, for the first time in many years she was able to make it through a hot, humid Florida summer without the symptoms of aggravated Pitta--feeling excessive heat, easily agitated, skin eruptions, etc. Since then we’ve both had follow-up consultations as a preventive measure to maintain balanced health, always with good results.

Having experienced the profound effects of these consultations, Warren decided in 1994 to take the Maharishi Vedic University Short Course on Self-pulse Reading. This course, in turn, created the desire to share the knowledge of Maharishi Vedic Science with others. He kept thinking, "What else can I do to get more involved with these programs?"

That was when Keith DeBoer, the Regional Secretary who oversees all tour activity in the southeastern United States, invited us to coordinate Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health consultations in Avon Park. We immediately accepted, knowing that many others could benefit as we had from this ancient system of natural health care.

We were trained to be Local Coordinators for the tour, and also to serve as Patient Educators for the consultations. Our job as Local Coordinators includes introducing people to the Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health and organizing tours for Avon Park and the Tampa Bay area. We coordinate with medical doctors, schedule the patients, and help host the visiting Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health experts.

The role of Patient Educator is also highly fulfilling. We sit with each person immediately after his or her consultation to review in detail their prescribed program, and to teach them how to follow the recommendations they’ve received. When we follow up with the people later, it’s really enjoyable to hear the many success stories as they become healthier and happier.

The whole thing has been a wonderful growth experience for us both. In fact, we became so inspired that we decided to start organizing tours for the Maharishi Vedic Astrology (Maharishi Jyotish) and Maharishi Yagya programs.

As Local Coordinators, we are that link for Maharishi's knowledge to touch the lives of others in a very significant way. We also receive each new unfoldment of knowledge, as it comes out, and then share it with our community.

Now we receive calls from people throughout Florida and the Southeast asking if there are any tours available in their area. So we know there’s a great need for more organizers to allow everyone access to this precious knowledge.

We sincerely encourage you to become a Local Coordinator. You’ll learn, you’ll grow, and you will truly make a big difference in other people’s lives.
