Predictions for the United States
|
The United States of America was born in
Philadelphia in the afternoon of July 4th, 1776. The birth time has been
rectified by Maharishi Jyotish program experts to match the major events
in the life of the country. The horoscope has Vrishchika lagna (Scorpio
ascendant). The Navamsha Lagna is also Vrishchika, which gives strength to
the country.
Most Creative Country in
the World
The lord of the lagna is in the 8th bhava (house), the
house of transformations, in conjunction with three other Grahas
(planets). This indicates constant transformations within the country,
openness to new ideas, and willingness to adopt new concepts. It is this
influence in the birth chart of the United States which has made it the
most creative country of our time.
Conquering the West
The lord of the 4th bhava, which represents the land that
belong to the United States, is placed in the 11th bhava, the hours of
acquisition and gain. This explains the enormous gain of territory of the
United States from the time of its birth to the present. Shani (Saturn),
the lord of the 4th house, represents the western direction, in which the
expansion took place.
Deficiencies of Democracy
The 9th bhava, which signifies laws, customs, and
traditional values, is occupied by Rahu (ascending lunar node), the
significator for revolution, and by Budha (Mercury), the lord of the 8th
bhava, the house of change and transformations. These two Grahas in the
9th house indicate the radical break with monarchy and the introduction of
representative democracy as a new political system.
A second chart, for the signing of the
Constitution of the United States on September 17th, 1787, clearly shows
the division of power into legislative (Congress), executive (president)
and judiciary (courts). The Grahas representing these three powers are all
connected with the 8th bhava, which in Vedic Astrology has the quality of
vulnerability. The lord of the 10th bhava, representing the executive
(president) and the legislative (Congress) is placed in the 8th house. The
lord of the 9th bhava, the house of law, is also in the 8th. The lord of
the 8th is in the 9th bhava. This combination shows that the Constitution
keeps all three divisions of federal power in a state of weakness and
vulnerability (the so-called "checks and balances"). The
exchange of 8th and 9th lords indicates the counterbalancing of powers and
their mutual opposition, which prevents them from fully supporting each
other.
The impeachment of the President has
been the result of this weakness in the political organization of the
country. In the birth chart of the United States, the current Mahadasha
(major period) of Surya (the Sun), from October 1993 to October 1999, has
manifested a great pressure on the President. Surya is significator for
the head of the country, and as lord of the 10th house, also represents
the head of the government. Since he is in the 8th bhava, the house of
danger, the President has been in a vulnerable position for the past few
years.
A group of Yogic Flyers for the
government and Maharishi Yagya performances for the country could generate
mutual support of the three divisions of power, and thereby remedy the
weakness that comes from the opposition built into the setup of American
political life at the federal level.
Finance
The Mahadasha lord, Surya, is aspecting the 2nd bhava, the
house of wealth, which has focused the attention of the country on
financial matters throughout the current Mahadasha from October 1993 to
October 1999. Surya is in conjunction with the lord of the 2nd bhava and
of the 5th bhava, the house of speculation. The position of both Grahas in
the 8th bhava, the house of risk taking, along with the position of Surya
in Punarvasu Nakshatra (a constellation), have been mostly responsible for
the rise of the stock market in the past few years. The current Shukra
(Venus) Antardasha (sub-period), from October 1998 to October 1999, has
contributed to the ups and downs in the stock indices, because Shukra is
unfriendly towards both Surya and Guru (Jupiter).
However, Shukra is also positioned in
the 8th bhava and aspects the house of wealth. Furthermore, he is lord of
the house of loss and his placement in the 8th house is favorable for the
increase of wealth, so that he does not alter the general trend in his
dasha period.
With the onset of Chandra (the Moon)
Mahadasha in October of 1999, a significant change will take place.
Chandra is only loosely connected with the speculative influences seen in
the chart, and this will considerately dampen the exuberance of the stock
market players.
Economy
The 7th bhava signifies business and trade and also
America's foreign business partners. The 2nd bhava counted from the 7th
house represents the wealth of the partners. Both Mahadasha lords are
placed in this house. This indicates that the country profits from its
business partners. The aspect of both Grahas on the 2nd bhava, the house
of wealth, also indicates that the country gains from business partners
and is able to increase its wealth through such relationships.
Antardasha lord Shukra (from October
1998 to October 1999) is lord of the 7th house, and his position in the
8th bhava, the house of separation, is not favorable for harmonious
relationships with partners. Shukra's conjunction with Mangala (Mars) and
his position in Ardra Nakshatra indicate a tendency to put economic
pressure on other countries.
The beginning of Chandra Mahadasha
(October 1999 to October 2009) will bring more openness for trade
agreements on an equal level, because Chandra is significator for overseas
countries and, as lord of the 9th house, he also represents faraway
places. Since Chandra is debilitated in the Navamsha Kundali (a special
chart) and in conjunction with debilitated Rahu, the country will profit
less from other countries and will face more opposition from abroad.
Inner security
The coming Mahadasha of Chandra runs from October 1999 to
October 2009. Chandra is debilitated in the Navamsha Kundali and under the
influence of Rahu and Ketu (descending lunar node) in the Navamsha and
Chalit Kundalis. This indicates rifts in the country which in the past
resulted in the Civil War and in racial conflicts. In Chandra's Mahadasha,
this problem will be enlivened in the national consciousness, however with
Maharishi Yagya performances it may be turned into a healing process for
the country. This becomes possible because Chandra is lord of the house of
spiritual progress and good fortune. His position in the 4th house, the
house of comforts, forms a Raja Yoga (favorable combination). This would
lead the United States to harmony and new spiritual achievements.
World Leadership
The Mahadasha of Surya, from October 1993 to October 1999, has
strengthened the leadership position of the United States in the world,
since Surya represents the king or supreme power in the terminology of
Vedic Astrology. Surya is in conjunction with favorable house lords and
exalted in the Navamsha Kundali. This has brought the United States to the
zenith of world power and influence. Since Surya is the significator of
pure consciousness and is in conjunction with Guru, the significator for
spiritual life, the enlivenment of pure consciousness through Maharishi's
program for group flying has added to the power and rise of the country.
The Shukra Antardasha, October 1998 to
October 1999, is not favorable for good relations with other countries, as
Shukra is lord of the 7th bhava, the house of partners, and is placed in
the house of separation. This has somewhat diminished America's leadership
position.
The Chandra Mahadasha (October 1999 to
October 2009) brings influences that further diminish the position in the
world. Chandra is significator for overseas countries, and as lord of the
9th house he also governs foreign relations. Since Chandra is in the
Navamsha Kundali in the sign of debilitation and in conjunction with
debilitated Rahu, he has less power to dominate other countries.
However, Chandra is lord of the 9th
bhava, the house of spiritual progress, so there is the possibility to
reduce the negative influences of Chandra through spiritual methods. Rahu
in the 9th bhava represents a Yoga that promotes Maharishi Yagya
performances for the benefit of the country and continued progress in all
areas of spiritual and material life.
Jai Guru Dev.
