Republic of Tuva: Meditators and Yogic Flyers Reduce Crime
The Republic of Tuva, a member of the Russian Federation, is located in Central Asia just north of Mongolia. In 1996, the President of Tuva signed an agreement to establish Maharishi University of Management in his country. Since then nearly one percent of the population has learned the TM technique, and there are now nearly 200 Yogic Flyers. Crime has decreased by nearly 20 percent, which the President has said is because the young people of Tuva have become "more connected with the universe."

India: Foundation Stone Laid for the World's Tallest Building
On November 6, 1998, the foundation stone was laid for the world’s tallest building at the Brahmasthan (central point) of India. The building will house the World Capital of Maharishi Global Administration through Natural Law, and provide a home for up to 100,000 Vedic Pandits and Yogic Flyers who will create coherence in world consciousness, resulting in a dramatic rise in positivity, peace and harmony in the family of nations.
A prominent American architectural firm, which has designed three of the tallest buildings in the world, has been working for four months on the design. The building will be constructed according to Vedic proportions—a square base 1,111 feet on each side, equivalent to half the building's 2,222-foot height. The structure will also have the largest volume of any building in the world, with more than 20 million square feet of livable space.

Mozambique: President Chissano Visits Vlodrop
His Excellency Joachim Alberto Chissano Rama, President of Mozambique, recently made a visit to Maharishi University of Management in Vlodrop, Holland. In 1992, President Chissano began the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique. Five years ago, he introduced the TM program to 13,000 soldiers in the Armed Forces. He noted that the program creates "a harmonizing atmosphere that reflects on the whole society, and even on the so-called adversary. It is not the purpose to destroy the adversary, but to make him into our friend." President Chissano credits the peace and improved fortune which Mozambique enjoys today to the TM program.

France: Dr. Bevan Morris Addresses UNESCO

On October 7th, Dr. Bevan Morris, president of Maharishi University of Management in the United States, addressed the UNESCO world conference on higher education. Dr. Morris told the delegates that it is the requirement of the time to design a new future for education. Modern education develops only part of the brain, and this causes chaos and problems in higher education, and in society. Education today actually prevents the development of the total potential of the brain. This is because of its segmented approach, in which students focus on specific fields of Natural Law, such as physics, mathematics, management or art, and therefore only enliven specific parts of the brain, and never the total brain.
