Setting a New Standard:
Heavenly Mountain Ideal Girls School

The scene last June was similar to thousands of high school graduation ceremonies taking place in communities across the United States. The celebration hall was packed with students and their teachers, parents and well -wishers. As "Pomp and Circumstance" played, the graduates and leaders of the school filed in and took their places on stage. The audience sat rapt with attention as the new graduates began to describe their experiences of the previous years.

It was at this point, however, that any similarity ended. One by one, these radiant young women - the first graduating class of Heavenly Mountain Ideal Girls’ School - unfolded expressions of the highest levels of Vedic wisdom, the total knowledge of Natural Law governing their own consciousness and physiology, and the entire universe.

"We were all in awe at the quality or the graduates," says Dr. Robin Rowe, Commencement speaker and curriculum advisor to Heavenly Mountain Ideal Girls’ School. "It wasn’t just their eloquent speech, but their beautifully developed hearts and brilliant mastery of Vedic knowledge, their faces radiating clarity, purity, and bliss." What especially moved everyone, comments Dr. Rowe, was their "complete dedication to the highest values of life for themselves and the whole world. In these girls we are clearly seeing great enlightened leaders of a very bright future."

Girls have come from all over the country to attend this unique school, the first Consciousness-Based school for girls, in the new home of the Mother Divine program at Heavenly Mountain - The Spiritual Center of America in North Carolina. Boarding and day students, grades 7-12, are enjoying the heavenly setting of the school’s beautiful new campus, built according to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda design, the ancient science of building in harmony with Natural Law.

What makes this school so special? The students are studying all the traditional disciplines - literature, art, math, science, etc. - with one all-important difference. The Heavenly Mountain Ideal Girls’ School fully utilizes the subjective approach to gaining knowledge provided by Maharishi Vedic Science. Every aspect of the day is designed to perfect the physiology and consciousness of the girls. The knowledge of the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature which is at the basis of all disciplines - and is experienced in the students’ own self-referral consciousness - is the foundation for study of every academic subject the girls learn. Having the rich knowledge and experience of consciousness helps the students relate everything they study to themselves.

This combination of knowledge, experience, and the special atmosphere of the Mother Divine program provides the nectar that nurtures the young lives of these students. Charlene Troy, who is entering the School this fall as a sophomore, remembers clearly the first time she walled thorough the door and met the students, on the day she came to learn the Transcendental Meditation technique just a few months ago. She says, "I had no idea what to expect. But from the first second I talked to everyone, I was overwhelmed by how sweet, loving, and happy they all were. Everyone was open to sharing all the love and happiness they possessed. I have never seen these qualities before in anyone. Now I am finally happy within myself," says Charlene. "I know coming here was the best decision I ever made."
