It is a joy to reflect on the progress and achievements in the
past 40 years since the Transcendental Meditation technique was
first taught by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. During this
time, five million people worldwide have learned the
Transcendental Meditation technique, including 1.7 million people
in North America, and Maharishi has trained over 40,000 teachers
of the TM technique and established more than two thousand
teaching centers throughout the world.
Maharishi continues to unfold more and more of the ancient Vedic
wisdom, the eternal knowledge of Natural Law that gave rise to the
TM program. Maharishi has revealed that Veda and Vedic Literature
is the inner intelligence of everyone and everything. Recently the
eminent researcher, Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D., has discovered that
human physiology is just the expression of Veda and Vedic
Literature, the total intelligence of Natural Law responsible for
the creation and evolution of the whole universe. The grand
conclusion of Dr. Nader's research is that everyone is made of
Veda and everything is Vedic.
Maharishi Vedic Science and TechnologySM
provides us with the practical means to fully enliven this total
intelligence of Natural Law to gain the state of Enlightenment,
life lived in perfection, completely in accord with Natural Law.
I warmly invite you to participate in the unfoldment of Vedic
knowledge through Natural Law forums which are being established
to promote Vedic health care, Vedic education, Vedic
administration, Vedic economy, Vedic law and justice, Vedic
architecture, Vedic agriculture, as well as many other areas.
These forums provide the opportunity to apply, in a practical way,
the wisdom of Vedic knowledge to your area of interest and
expertise.
This inaugural issue of Enlightenment offers the opportunity to
learn more about all the new programs and initiatives available
through Maharishi Vedic Universities, Colleges, Schools and
Centers worldwide. I congratulate you for having learned the TM
technique and wish you growing health and happiness in 1998,
Maharishi's Second Year of Global Administration through Natural
Law.

Maharishi feels that the supreme scientific achievement of his 40
years of activity around the world has been the discovery by
Professor Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D., that the human physiology is
cosmic—the sun, moon, planets and stars are the cosmic
counterparts of the human physiology—and Veda and Vedic
Literature, the structure and function of Natural Law, are at the
basis of human physiology.
On February 6th at an historic ceremony held at Maharishi Vedic
University in Vlodrop, Holland Professor Nader received the
Weight-in-Gold Award in honor of this great discovery.
The practical significance of Professor Nader’s discovery is that
now the cosmic potential of human life can become a living reality
for everyone. Through the correct application of the 40 aspects of
Veda and Vedic Literature, we can now fully evolve the inner
intelligence of the body, so that stress and strain and sickness and
disease are disallowed.
